OVERVIEW
We understand that having any missing teeth can have a huge impact on your lifestyle and self-confidence. At Cheshire Dental Centre, we offer dental implants to provide you with your dream smile.
Having dental implants fitted is a surgical procedure that replaces missing teeth by inserting a titanium screw into the jaw bone to support an artificial tooth, the implant. This provides a long term solution that replicates your natural teeth.
Dental implants have a success rate of up to 98%. If you are missing one or more teeth, there are many benefits of having implants fitted:
– Enhance the appearance of your smile.
– Improve the ability to eat any foods you want.
– Convenience and comfort – because the implant is secured within the jawbone, the replacement teeth look, feel, and function just like your own natural teeth.
APPOINTMENT INFORMATION
The first step in repairing and restoring your smile is to come in for a full case assessment. All aspects of the implant placement, time lengths and costing will be discussed in full to ensure you are clear about the treatment plan before we begin. Our expert team will work to give you the best treatment plan possible. Plus, of course, we will match the colour of the new teeth to your natural teeth.
The implant placement can take around 120 minutes from beginning to end, but this can take longer if there are bone grafting procedures or multiple implants. The placement of dental implants is done under local anaesthetic, which makes the area numb to prevent the procedure from being painful. There can be some discomfort for a few days afterwards, which can be controlled with over the counter pain killers.
If you require any teeth to be removed before the implant is fitted, this can potentially be done at the same time. These are known as immediate implants and are reserved for particular cases and situations which will be discussed at your implant consultation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can anyone get dental implants?
In most cases, anyone healthy enough to undergo a routine dental extraction or oral surgery can be considered for a dental implant. Patients should have healthy gums and enough bone to hold the implant. They also must be committed to good oral hygiene and regular dental visits.
For patients who have undergone any radiation therapy recently or who may be suffering from a chronic disease, will need to be assessed for implants in person.
If you are considering implants, call or email us to see if they are right for you.
Are implants better than dentures?
While they cost more than dentures, implants last longer and save you money over time. Dental implants lead to fewer visits to the dentist because they’re easier to maintain compared to dentures.
Dental implants eliminate the inconvenience of removing dentures, as well as the need for adhesives to keep them in place.
How long do implants last?
Implants are very durable and will last many years. With good care, many implants can last a lifetime.
On average, dental implants last 25 years, but good oral hygiene will ensure they last even longer.
